Choosing the best roof insulation for you

Selecting roof insulation shouldn’t overwhelm you; it’s about finding what suits your needs best. Offering solutions for various roofing applications, including pitched roof, flat roof, inverted roof, and metal roof insulation, there’s a solution for you.

Plus, the type and thickness you choose will depend on several factors, including roof design, building usage, climate, available space, accessibility, and roof type. But let’s break it down even further:

Choosing the right material

We provide a diverse selection of roof insulation materials suitable for different roofing needs:

  • Multi-foil insulation
  • PIR (Polyisocyanurate)
  • XPS (Extruded polystyrene)
  • Phenolic insulation
  • Rock and glass mineral wool slabs, rolls, and boards

Unsure which is right for you? It’s best to speak to our specialists to determine the best material for your building.

Roof Insulation Rolls: These offer flexibility and easy installation, making them the economical choice. Ideal for those aiming to save on labour and materials.

Insulated Roof Panels: While pricier, they provide durability and longevity, resisting sagging and deterioration, making them a solid long-term investment.

When it comes to your roof insulation type, here are some considerations:

Pitched roof insulation

Cold loft insulation is the simplest and most cost-effective option. Insulation is placed over and between wooden joists, above the ceiling of the top floor. Alternatively, a warm loft entails insulation fitted beneath the roof, between and beneath sloping rafters.

Materials like glass wool offer excellent thermal and sound insulation, while roof insulation boards provide rapid installation, albeit with slightly less soundproofing.

Flat roof insulation

The distinction between warm and cold flat roofs lies in the insulation location. In a warm roof, insulation sits on top, keeping the roof structure warm. Conversely, in a cold roof, insulation is between rafters and the roof deck, leaving a cold gap underneath. For optimal thermal performance and easier installation, a warm flat roof is recommended.

Rockwool mineral wool and PIR insulation boards are common choices for insulation for flat roofs.

No matter your project or budget, we’ve got you covered. Need help deciding? Let us assist you in finding the perfect fit for your roof insulation needs.
