Job summary

A Warehouse Operative in the insulation and drylining industry is responsible for conducting a variety of warehouse activities, including handling, storing, and maintaining stock levels of insulation and drylining materials. The operative plays a crucial role in ensuring that the materials are accurately accounted for, in pristine condition, and are prepared for dispatch or collection in a timely manner. The role demands a meticulous and organised individual who can maintain operational efficiency in a dynamic warehouse environment and adhere to industry-specific safety protocols.

Job responsibilities

  • Load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse, ensuring their safety and integrity.
  • Assist in picking, packing, and dispatching goods in line with order requirements.
  • Participate in stock checks and maintain accurate records of inventory levels.
  • Inform supervisors of any discrepancies or shortages in stock immediately.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
  • Perform basic maintenance checks on equipment and report any malfunctions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness within the warehouse, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Dispose of waste materials in accordance with environmental regulations.
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and procedures within the warehouse.
  • Use protective gear and equipment as required and report any unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Assist with customer pickups, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in order fulfillment.
  • Address and resolve any immediate concerns or queries from customers during pick-ups.

Job requirements

  • Preferable experience as a Warehouse Operative, preferably within the insulation and drylining industry.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and safety protocols (health and safety aware).
  • Preferably fork lift license (FLT) and ability to operate a fork lift.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills for stock checks and inventory management.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work well in a team.
  • Flexible to work overtime when required.
